Match Report | Sidmouth & Ottery 0 Okehampton 1st - 9
Okehampton travelled to sidmouth hoping to continue their winning streak. Okehampton used their skills from training as soon as the game started, using accurate passing which lead to Jo Moppett having her first shot on goal which was flicked into the net. Sidmouth and ottery broke through Okehampton and had their shots on goal which was saved by Alice Wiseman the keeper. The ball was brought forward by effective passing between Sophia Marshall and Nicola Stoneman which gave Moppett a chance to hit the ball at post where Hannah Whiteley was waiting and swept the ball into the goal which made the score 2-0 for Okehampton. The third goal was made by Annebelle Rademaker as she back hand swept the ball into the net. However, sidmouth and ottery didn't give up they keep strong but lost it when Sophie Whiteley stopped almost every ball which went near her. Kim Davey strongly hit the ball which was received by Alisa Gibb who then passed to Moppett. Moppy with high speed ran into the D and around the goalie where she simply ticked the ball neatly into the goal. After some great playing Okehampton where given a short corner, which allowed captain kimmy to score her first goal as she stood ready by the post and managed a deflection from a defender which she picked up in mid air and put the ball in the corner of the goal. Nicky Pedrick blocked a ball from the opposition and gave an easy pass to Moppett where she made her hatrick by pushing the ball flying pass the goalie. The first half ended with 6-0 to Okehampton. Sidmouth and ottery wouldn't give up they kept pushing forward but where blocked by Okehampton's defence. Laura Parsons passed the ball to Moppett, as soon as she was in the D Moppett hit the ball which made Okehampton 7-0 ahead. The 8th goal was made by Laura Parsons as she received the ball from Louise Weller, Laura simply chipped the ball through the goalies legs and into the goal. The last goal was made by Annebelle Rademaker as a hit from Davey managed the ball pass the players and against Rademaker's stick and into the goal. Player of the match was given to Moppett and her four goals, even though the rest of the team played excellently. Next week Okemapton host Exe 3rds at home. |
