Match Report | Okehampton A played host to Plymouth Marjons D, hoping to improve on the last few weeks and turn the tables from their meeting earlier in the season. The game started off on an even playing field, with both Okehampton and Marjons playing around the midfield with neither team putting together a string of more than 3 passes for the first 10 minutes. Marjons started to take hold of the game putting Okehampton on the back foot and trying to make breaks down the wing, which were mostly broken up by both Ben's. Marjons managed to get a short corner from nowhere and slotted the ball home. From the restart Okehampton put some pressure on with John and James moving the ball up the pitch. After regaining possession Marjons made another attack down the middle that was thwarted by John Jarvis. Marjons got a 2nd short corner which was slotted in again. On the next Marjons attack George Morgan intercepted the ball on the Okehampton 25 and skipped like a ballerina past four Marjons players making it to the oppositions 25 before getting tackled. Marjons started getting frustrated and eventually succeeded in winning another short corner which was cooly slotted in for number 3. In the last 5 minutes of the half a clearance from John Jarvis was received by Stuart Jarvis who darted part 3 defenders and narrowly put the ball wide. The second half Okehampton regained their form making Marjons work hard for possession, with Tim and Brett working the ball from defence around the midfield and Charlie down the wing, it was looking hopeful for Okehampton to get a goal back. Marjons got another short corner which Jimmy cleared off the line. The resulting clearance led to Okehampton's first short corner of the game which Brett narrowly missed converting. |
