Match Report |
This week Oke 2nd's traveled to Plymouth Marjon following last weeks promising performance. Oke started well taking the game to Marjon with darting runs from Stuart Jarvis fresh from 2 weeks in Florida and Will Ash causing problems with his good positional play. Marjon eventually settled and started to make breaks of their own having some young skilful players but the experienced back four of Bingham, Jarvis, Lewis-Humbert, and Rowlands kept them away from the young keeper Matt Westlake. It took a surging run from Neil Rowlands linking up with Jacob Smith to then take on several defenders and then coolly slot the ball into the bottom corner to break the deadlock. This seemed to fire up the Marjons boys who then immediately replied with skilful play to undo the Oke defence and level the score. After the half time whistle Oke once again pressed the Marjon goal with chances for all the strikers. Marjon tried all they could to attack Oke but some great play from midfielders Smith and Alfie Morgan eventual man of the match cut out the attacks or slowed them enough for the Oke defence to clear the ball and start another attack of their own. The game ended 1-1 with a very deserved point for Oke. Next week Oke are at home to PGSOB-B.
