Okehampton ladies seconds faced Dart firsts at home in their second league match of the season. Dart took an early lead despite brave goalkeeping by Ella Kaye. However Okehampton then fought back and directed by centre back, Amanda Sim, got a good hold on their formation, leading to some great passing between wings Elsa Frangleton and Emelia Bazely and forwards Ellie Shayler, Rachel Adams and Alex Collins. However despite having an equal share of the play and great determination Okehampton trailed 1-0 at half time.
> The second half saw Dart come out strong but this did not stop right back Debbie Pritchard taking a run with the ball up into the Attacking quarter where a bad tackle caused a Dart player to be sent off. With tempers slightly riled Dart were then on the attack and managed to fire in a couple of goals and then consolidate these with a successful penalty flick. Okehampton still did not give up with mid fielder Emma Wiseman working hard to intercept the ball, making good use of the back pass to defenders Nicola Bennie and Louise Weller. Despite best efforts Okehampton were unable to pull it back and the final score was 7-0 to Dart. Next week Okehampton 2’s play Exe 3’s away.
