Match Report | Okehampton A travelled down to a wet Torbay hoping to restart their winning streak and get another three points. As the game commenced Okehampton were wary of the young home side but took a swift lead after Stuart Jarvis made a cracking run down the wing finding Luxton in the D who made it 1-0. Torbay fought back down the middle but their efforts were kept at bay by the defence and midfield of John Jarvis, Stuart Glanville, Oscar Hughes and the Morgan duo . After a sixteen the home side made a break down the middle and after a series of missed Oke tackles the resultant aeriel shot found the back of the net. However this set back didn't stop the away side from pushing for goals, and Luxton had another great shot on goal that made it 2-1 at half time. Despite having the lead Okehampton knew they weren't playing their best hockey and went into the second half determined to raise their game. Torbay started the stronger, but were knocked backwards as Luxton completed his hattrick. A strong run from Hughes and a pinpoint cross to Ash led to Okehamptons extending their lead. Numerous attacks were made with the excellent support of the Morgans, captain Jimmy and Jones in the middle. After being awarded a short corner Okehampton once again found the net with a cool deflection from Ash making the score 4-1. Two more quick attacking runs and two more shots from Luxton led to the home side conceding two more goals in quick succession. After an Okehampton sixteen Alfie Morgan cracked the ball up to Hughes who was making a run up the wing, he made it to the D and took the away sides lead up to 7-1. As the home side tired, Okehampton were ready to extend their goal difference as much as possible. Torbay had a short corner awarded against them resulting in Luxton smashing it into the goal making it his second double hatrick of the season and the score ending at 8-1. |
