Match Report | Okehampton A hosted Penzance, and within the first 3 minutes of the game a lighting fast Okehampton counter attack led by Stuart Jarvis set Luxton up to power the ball past the Penzance keepers stick. Penzance, fielding a very strong side, responded quickly and despite the defensive work of Glanville, L-Humbert, Yelland and Hughes, converted two short corners to race into the lead. The rest of the first half was tightly fought, with Okehampton being pressed into their own half by the away team, but still looking dangerous on the counter attack. Eventually Penzance wore down the defence won another short corner, and added to their lead. Okehampton weren't ready to give up yet with the midfield trio of Lloyd, Tim and Alfie Morgan working together to set Luxton up to fire the ball goal bound, deflecting it off the keeper, towards Will Ash who placed the ball into the corner of the goal, giving Okehampton hope for a comeback. Penzance bounced back by scoring yet another short corner before the end of the first half. Okehampton trailed 5-2 at half time. The second half was hardly fought, but despite Okehampton's desparate defence, Penzance sealed off the game scoring 3 more goals. |
