Match Report

Okehampton A played Torbay B in their penultimate game of the season hoping to finish on a winning note. In the opening minutes of the game Oke made several quick attacks using the fast midfield of Tim Morgan, Billy Jecks and Oscar Hughes; Hughes who always looked dangerous in attack pressed forward and passed on to Glanville who dribbled around the away sides kicking back and slotted it into the goal. This unsettled the Torbay defence, and Hughes pushed forward again, and as he entered the D, unleashed a cracking shot to it 2-0 at half time. For the remainder of the half Okehampton's game was subdued and although many shots were taken the half ended with no more goals being scored.

Okehampton stepped up their game in the second half. a quickly taken hit from Morgan reached Smith who crossed it into Luxton who whacked it in at a 45 degree angle to extend the Okehampton lead. Torbay attempted to come back into the game but were held back by the solid defence of Jarvis, Ben, Bowles, Jeremy Newman, Ben Yelland and Mark Bingham. After a sixteen by Bingham the ball was found in the D where a Torbay defender kicked the ball and a short corner was given. As two of the defence overstepped the line it was just the kicking back and two defenders defending against the Okehampton attack. Glanville hit the ball to Lewis-Humbert who passed it on to Stuart Jarvis but the shot went narrowly wide. As the game played out Okehampton missed several more goal scoring chances and the game finished with a 3-0 home win.
