Okehampton 2nds met top of the league Okehampton 1sts at home this Saturday. Goalie and Man of the Match, Ella Moore made some heroic saves, landing on the ground, getting up, turning quickly and going down again to save another shot on goal. Right back
Debbie Pritchard was determined to show her mettle clearing the ball to the side constantly, with Rachel Adams making some brilliant tackles and passing the ball up the right side to Zoe Curtis who
Made a heroic speedy dash up the wing. Unfortunately despite hard work Okehampton 2nds were 7-0 at half time. The second half saw Okehampton 2nds determined to play their game and make some attack’s. Pushing up Centre fielders Ellie Shayler and Louise Weller worked well together and made ground getting the ball forward to Elsa Frangleton and Zoe Curtis resulting in some attacks on goal.
The team started to make progress getting more ball play and putting Okehampton 1sts under pressure, making them work hard. The opposition were still able to keep scoring but Okehampton 2nds were determined to put 100% in until the final whistle. With a couple of minutes left, Okehampton working as a team drove the ball up the pitch and were delighted when Alex Collins scored.
