Okehampton ladies seconds faced Dart 2nds in a fast paced and exciting match this Saturday. Both teams had won promotion last year but Dart are currently towards the top of the league. Both teams were on the attack from the start with forwards Alex Collins, Zoe Curtis And Rachel Adams showing their mettle and determination to score. However it was a lucky break from Dart that saw Dart score an early goal to put Okehampton on the back foot. Anna Luxton put in some great tackles as did defender Nicola Bennie saving many attacks on goal before players reached the D. Debbie Pritchard, man of the match, and Emilia Bazely both played strongly as wing backs both defending and going forward feeding the balls to the attackers who kept on fighting, however this could not stop the half time score seeing Okehampton at a disadvantage of 4-0.
The second half saw Okehampton really get stuck in with attack after attack, midfielders Ellie Shayler, Louise Weller and Elsa frangleton were absolutely determined to get the ball in the attacking d and Dart were forced to fend off attack after attack. Sophie muggleston playing in a variety of positions played intelligently and gave support to both the forwards and midfield. Unfortunately despite the increase in pace in the second half Okehampton were unable to convert any of their attacks and the final score was 5-0 to Dart. Okehampton seconds play away next week against Exe 3rds.
