Match Report | Okehampton 2nds – 5 Honiton Hornets - 2
Okehampton started out strong against Honiton Hornets as they soared to victory 5-2. High amounts of pressure on Honiton players whilst they had the ball by okehampton led to an early goal from Amy Taylor after Zoe Curtis won the ball on the half way line and made a great pass through to her for a 1-on-1. Okehampton had a majority of the possession in the first half and Alex Collins managed to put the ball in after a short corner rebounded. Towards the end of the first half, Honiton had more of the ball which resulted in saves from Alice Wiseman and great tackles from Anna Luxton and Rachel Adams. The second half began 2-1 and very soon Amy Taylor managed to put the ball in the goal again after a great run by Sophie Mugliston. The next action of the game came when Rachel Adams made a goal line save to keep the score at 3-1 to the home side. Zoe Curtis continued to make many runs down the right wing and this paid off for her as soon she too had scored 2 goals taking the score to 5-1. Towards the end of the game Okehampton had all the ball however Honiton managed to keep them out. Finally Honiton managed to hit Okehampton with a counterattack and make the score line 5-2. Player of the match was Amy Taylor and goals were scored by Zoe Curtis (2), Alex Collins (1) and Amy Taylor (2).
