Match Report | Okehampton A travelled to play OPM hoping to secure the points after their previous game was called off. An early attack towards the OPM goal gave Ash a clean shot on goal to take the lead. OPM were quick to respond, and with a crash ball found their attacker who outpaced Yelland in defence and dribbled around the Oke keeper to equalise. A quick ball out of defence to Bowles and on to Rowlands in the middle reached Smith but the attack broke down, however Jarvis sped down the wing and beat the keeper for the the away side to take the lead. Shortly after, Ash managed to squeeze in his second goal tapping in a cross from Smith to make it 3-1 at half time. Early in the second half, Bowles pushed up the wing to Jarvis who crossed for Hughes who cooly made it 4-1 with a hit into the back corner. OPM remained on the back foot for the second half and struggled to get the ball out of their D and whenever they did they were thwarted by the Okehampton defence. Rowlands and Morgan in the middle of the park found Smith in the D he took a clean shot direct at goal, however Ash was looking for his hat trick and snuck in to tap the ball in making it 5-1. The result takes the Oke side to 2nd in the Verde Recreo league, and they now look forward to two home games next week against Caradon and Devonport. |
