Match Report | Okehampton A travelled to play Ashmoor C expecting a tough game but potentially one they could win. As soon as the game began the forward three of Ash, Jarvis and Jolley put pressure on the Ashmoor side creating many options for the midfield of Morgan and Glanville to capitalise and drive the ball into the D, however the home defence wasn’t going to give Okehampton’s forwards any time to shoot with the goalie deflecting any balls on target. Glanville took a shot at the top of the D that found Ash who tapped it into the goal making the score 1-0 Okehampton. When the half time whistle came both teams were thankful for a break. After a motivating team talk from captain Lewis-Humbert, Okehampton went into the second half ready to increase their lead, however, it was Ashmoor who put pressure on the Oke defence of Jarvis, Bowles and Hughes. But they kept the ball out of the D leaving Yelland in goal with little to do. Okehampton kept on pressing in the home teams half resulting in some brilliant goal scoring opportunities, but no additions to the score. Next week, Oke travel again to play fellow high fliers Teign A |
