Match Report | Okehampton Men’s 2nd team travelled the short distance to Tavistock for the local Derby looking to avenge the loss from earlier in the season. Okehampton started on the backfoot, with the early part of the game spent defending their goal. The defence of Morgan snr, Lewis-Humbert, du Pre, Jolley and Nesbitt held the attacks at bay, preventing any shots on goal. Okehampton started to work as a team, breaking the midfield down with the formidable Morgan jnr and Covington starting to enable some breaks up-field, with Jones misfiring the ball just wide of the upright. This spurred Okehampton into action and new drag flicker Bonnet fired the ball straight at the keeper. Tavistock cleared the ball as far as Webber who slotted the ball back through to Covington, who turned, and calmly slid the ball under the keeper. Hearing the sound of the backboard was what Okehampton needed.
