Match Report | Okehamptons Mens 2nd team we’re home to Falmouth this week for penultimate game of th season. Falmouth had a positive start, quickly putting the Oke defence of Yelland, Jarvis and L-Humbert under some pressure. Oke absorbed the pressure, gradually regained their composure, and as the half progressed, wingers Ben Jones and Will Bonnet found space to make some penetrating runs towards the Falmouth circle. Will Ash was starting to create some good opportunities in midfield, feeding the Okehampton attack. This eventually led to a strong Okehampton push into the D where Ash’s strike hit a Falmouth defenders foot winning a penalty stroke. Chris Luxton stepped up to dispatch the stroke and Okehampton took the lead. This spurred Falmouth into action and as they moved forwards, they forced a series of penalty corners and converted one to level the score and the sides turned around with the honours even. Okehampton added to their score when Covington found Luxton in space who’s excellent strike took Oke back into the lead. Once again Falmouth responded quickly, and as the broke away down the left flank into some space their left wing took his chance to level up the scores. Both sides had their chances to add to the scores, but the defences won the day and the score stayed at 2-2. Next week the side travel to Truro for their last game, and the Men’s first team end their season with a home game against Plymouth Marjons 3 |
