Okehampton tournament
Okehampton ladies hockey club hosted their 3rd successful tournament at the weekend. Six teams took part; Tavistock, Launceston, Exe, ISCA and two teams from the home side, Okehampton and Columbines.
All teams played in the spirit of the game, with several teams including junior players. It was inspirational to watch their enthusiasm and determination for the game. For many it was a great opportunity to play again as a team after the summer break and experience the new rules prior to the commencement of the forthcoming league.
But there was a trophy to be won and each team displayed grit and determination to be the worthy winners. Under glorious sunshine, with many having a well deserved ice cream between matches, the winners emerged. By the end of the afternoon, ISCA had won, scoring the highest points, with Launceston finishing a close second.
With many thanks to event organiser Louise Weller, the players and umpires, it proved yet again to be a very enjoyable day of hockey
